LATICRETE is a family-owned, customer focused, world-wide manufacturer marketer of green flooring and facade materials, used in residential, commercial and industrial applications.

LATICRETE was founded in 1956 and currently holds onto its roots in Connecticut where the company’s headquarters are located. The ethics and values of LATICRETE and its founder, Dr. Rothberg, remain prevalent throughout the company to this day. 

For over 65 years, LATICRETE has provided the technology, products and services for installations and repairs for the construction market. Architecturally specified and professionally endorsed, LATICRETE offers a dedication to quality that results in globally proven solutions for virtually every flooring, waterproofing and façade application.

1950 - 1959

  • 1956: LATICRETE® 4237 - first latex thin-set mortar in the industry
  • 1958: LATICRETE® 301/335 - first thin, load-bearing, trowel-applied waterproof membrane

1960 - 1969

  • 1960: Introduction of an installation system, providing single source offering with system warranty coverage
  • 1964: LATICRETE® SCU 18 - first thin, load-bearing acoustical underlayment system 
  • 1964: LATICRETE Conductive Mortar - first latex Portland cement based conductive adhesive
  • 1966: LATAPOXY® 210 - first cement-based epoxy resin, non-toxic, cleans with water

  • 2003: LATICRETE partners with Microban® - first to incorporate antimicrobial technology into line of products
  • 2003: 255 MULTIMAX™ - first lightweight 3-in-1 thin-set mortar 
  • 2003: LATICRETE established RAK facility in the Middle East (Joint Venture)
  • 2004: LATAPOXY® 310 Cordless Mixer - triples productivity for vertical installations of tile and stone
  • 2004: SPECTRALOCK® PRO - first stainproof epoxy grout 
  • 2004: David A. Rothberg, son of founder, elected to CEO/Chairman of the Board
