LATICRETE® was born 65 years ago in Connecticut. Henry M. Rothberg, studying the possible innovative uses of synthetic latex, applied to the concrete industry, came up with LATICRETE® 4237, a latex additive mixed with sand and cement, ultra-thin, waterproof and weatherproof, and impact resistant, which guaranteed complete, uniform and durable adhesion for all types of flooring, with an ultraslim, almost invisible, and above all lightweight and easy to apply layer.
A revolution for the installation and construction world, from the United States the success quickly spread to all foreign markets, in short, LATICRETE was chosen for large and prestigious architectural projects.
Dr. Rothberg took the idea to Germany, Denmark, Italy and England, where Villeroy and Boch became the first overseas customer.
Since then, the company has continued to be run by the same family, now in its 3rd generation: the Rothberg family. A true team, which has taken this reality to the top of the market and continues to manage it, with unchanged enthusiasm, inspired by a solid and shared ethical value system.
Today, LATICRETE® is present in 100 countries on 7 continents.

- 2010 LATICRETE® operates in Europe through licensees and distributors
- 2016 LATICRETE® officially lands in Europe through the acquisition of the Italian licensee, to restart LATICRETE® Srl
- 2017: Acquisition of licensee in Norway
- 2019 Acquisition of the Henkel plant in Ebensee (Norway)
- 2019 Acquisition of Benfer Schomburg Srl - Castelnuovo Rangone (MO): renowned manufacturer of adhesives and sealants for ceramic and natural stone floor and wall coverings; the two brands continue to coexist within the Group
- 2023 LATICRETE® HELLAS is born
